So, You have bought a used laptop and now you want to know if it is good and ready to be your laptop or If you want to upgrade and make it faster and better. Here are some of the tests that you can perform after buying a used laptop.

1. Clean the software

First of all, get a bootable Windows 11 or 10 USB whichever your laptop supports install it, and format all the drives.

2. Clean it Physically

Now, it is time to open your laptop and clean it because it is really important and will make the laptop a little faster than before to clean your laptop you can use a soft-bristled brush or a blower.

3. Upgrade

If you have money and your laptop has a HDD you must upgrade it because it will remove all the loading times and your windows will boot in just 1 or 2 seconds. This is the most essential upgrade you have to do.

You can also upgrade your RAM if it is below 4 GB you’ll need at least 8 GB and must be DDR5 if your laptop doesn’t support DDR5 then you can use DDR4

Tests you need to perform on a used laptop

These steps are generally done before buying a used laptop but if you haven’t done so and bought a used laptop already then you can perform these so that you fix the problems if your laptop has one.

Step 1: Gather the things

For testing your used laptop you’ll need the following things:

Step 2: Physical Inspection

  • Shake your laptop and check if there is any sound of a broken piece or a screw.

  • If it isn’t cleaned you can use a soft-bristled brush to clean the electronics or even use a blower to remove the dust.
